Dream We believe Paulo's dream is to run and walk freely

Paula has cerebral palsy and was taken to another children's centre in Maputo as a young boy. He did not receive the care he needed there and so, came to our Iris center in Zimpeto. He has come along way since his arrival, When he first came to us he could not sit up. Now he sits unassisted, scoots around on his bottom and can walk if holding the hand of another. Initially he was sad and fearful of many things, now he is a joyful boy who babbles and laughs even when alone. He is one of the best communicators in the special needs house. He cannot talk but his understanding has greatly increased and he can obey simple commands and communicate many of his needs. Paulo loves his toy mirror and anything that shines or lights up. He also likes rattles and keys. Mostly he loves people and enjoys just being in our company and having lots of hugs and kisses.
